POST-DOC

Raquel is a postdoctoral researcher specialized in immunology interested investigating immune dysregulation in chronic and inflammatory immune-mediated diseases. 


She was born in Barcelona (Spain). She graduated in Biology by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2002), where she also obtained her PhD for her studies on autoimmune diabetes at Prof. M. Vives-Pi group. She developed her previous postdoctoral studies in Hamburg (Germany) and at the University of Zurich in the context of multiple sclerosis at Prof. R. Martin / Dr. M. Sospedra’s group. At the end of 2018 she joined the the Pediatric Immunology Department at Zurich Children’s Hospital as postdoctoral researcher.


She specialized in immunology and focused on investigating immune dysregulation in chronic and inflammatory immune-mediated diseases. She has a strong background in autoimmunity (diabetes, multiple sclerosis), cellular immunology and T lymphocyte immunology. She is currently investigating immune dysregulatory mechanisms leading to hyperinflammatory syndromes and other monogenic immune diseases. She also supervises undergraduate students and has university teaching experience.
