Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a sepsis-like, cytokine storm syndrome. Our laboratory routinely performs the immunologic analyses to diagnose patients with suspected primary HLH. Our work highly benefits from an exquisite combination of clinical expertise, diagnostics and research that harnesses high throughput genetics, functional analysis, imaging and model systems. 

 

By better understanding the pathomechanisms, we aim to improve treatment of patients with HLH using targeted treatment strategies.
