Danil Koovely

PHD STUDENT

Danil graduated at ETH Zurich, acquiring both a MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Swiss federal license for pharmacists. He decided to focus on rare pediatric primary immunodeficiencies during his PhD study due to a specific interest in the field of immunotherapy and a personal affinity for truly neglected medical needs.

He currently works on the development of a platform based on high-throughput multiplexed imaging of blood cells through fluorescent microscopy. His goal is to eventually be able to robustly analyse the morphology and expression profiles of samples derived from paediatric patients diagnosed with poorly understood primary immunodeficiencies. Due to the strong interdisciplinary approach of this project, his work is supervised both by Prof. Jana Pachlopnik at Children hospital and Prof. Lucas Pelkmans at University of Zurich.
